The concept of gas filled springs
is not new. Tubular industries produced internally
and externally pressurized bellows in the 1930’s
using an inert gas as a spring medium. In 1974 a
senior member of the engineering staff of the British
steel corporation of Lakenby requested that a product
of this sort be sourced as a replacement for the
call springs used in their flocon gate valves due
to the unsatisfactory nature of coil springs at
temperatures exceeding 4300C. David Montebello,
the founder of Nutberry limited was involved in
the design and development of a suitable product
ever since. Gas springs are now being used by over
65 steel plants throughout the world. Some of these
have been using Nutberry gas springs since 1978
and many specify Nutberry products.
Nutberry gas springs
have an unparalleled reputation for reliability
and are technically the most advanced products available.
